Thank you Christine. My auntie had 2 Blacks Labs. Ignore my grumpy 9 year old face - I really did love them!

You could of named it funny dog, fluffy dog and fairy dog instead of scary ..its labelling breeds and unfair books aimed at children are supposed to be fun and educational and bull terriers are not scary at all.
But those words don’t rhyme.
No they don't rhyme but at least they aren't labeling as bad as in scary either. It was just an example I'm sure he could of used different words that still rhyme instead.
I appreciate this is an issue close to your heart, but have a bit of perspective. Kids are smart. If they took books to heart in that way, I’d have grown up believing that my stepmother was wicked. I bet your dog is lovely, this book has no bearing on that.
And most kids LOVE scary things - sharks, monsters, Halloween etc.
Completely! I know which dog in that picture I’d have wanted to hang out with as a child.
You won't change the content, you know the cost would be unsubstantiated. So how about maybe, a new story about a group of badly-perceived breeds that become accepted by others? It would teach kids a great lesson in acceptance & not judging a book by its cover (quite literally).
Great idea. Do it!
If he's gonna be a writer, someone better teach him what unsubstantiated means.
Yeah I’m probably not gonna worry too much about using “unsubstantiated” in a children’s book but I appreciate the English lesson, thanks
Brilliant book, Michael, by the way.
Thanks Peter!
Happy to support a fellow dog-rhymer!
I only heard about all this thanks to the twitter outrage - but looks like a lovely book! You’ve a new follower and reader here
Hi Michael. Absolute kudos to you for achieving your dream. Your book looks really cute and I dig your style.

Cute as a button! Cuter than a button in fact, (buttons aren't than cute). Thank you.
Haha, thank you! She's the best. And no problem--good thoughts.
