Credit where credit is due: Every single Democrat in both the House and the Senate voted against the GOP tax monstrosity. Every single one.

Whatever else one may think of her, @NancyPelosi is the most effective House party leader of our era.

The most effective leader is Mitch McConnell, who successfully stole a Supreme Court seat. All the Dem leaders let that happen.

Yes. I've been disappointed by actions of some more conservative Dems but on this and on healthcare, they've been steadfast & deserve acknowledgement for that.

Yep the conservative Democrats may not win popularity contests for meeting all of our check boxes on what we'd like to see happen, but at least they aren't actively voting to hurt people either.

Yeah, you'd think a bunch of "corporatist Dems" would work a lot harder to cut corporations' taxes.

Yet another reason why the "both parties are the same" assholes are so infuriating. We've never seen such a stark contrast between the two major US parties in our lifetime.

I'm sorry, this is just the baseline behavior I expect. Would you guys be applauding if the "turn poor people into mulch for golf courses" bill didn't get any Democrat votes? At a certain point, they need to throw their bodies on the levers of govt so those levers cannot operate.

Tony, I understand your frustration, but there is no such thing "throwing their bodies on the levers of government" in this case. The GOP used every procedural trick in the book (and created some new ones) to pass this thing. There is nothing else the Dems could have done.
