Don't stress. They never said the vax would prevent you from getting it, they said you wouldn't become as ill if you do get it.
Just wear your mask when you are out.

The vaccine will in most cases help prevent you from becoming really ill from the virus and to help prevent the need for hospitalisation, it does not stop you getting it or spreading it, a high vaccinated population will slow it down and help control the variants far better

It really isn't all that complicated...
It's just like measles. Was gone while everyone was getting the shot. Anti-vaxxers undid that. "UhH It"S bEeN gOnE foReVer?!" Ya when people got the shot... and now it's back.
