You do not take a baby to Alinea. Unless the babysitter cancelled last minute and Alinea would not refund your ticket. No other debate.

@MichaelNagrant Agreed, 100%, but even if you're an insufferable jerk & do you deserve to be treated better than being called out in public

@jmlenart @MichaelNagrant there isn't a name or picture so they aren't really 'called out.'

@EllenMalloy @MichaelNagrant But if it was me there, and I saw this, how am I supposed to feel?

@jmlenart @EllenMalloy In today's world I'd tweet back if I truly had a good reason to bring a baby to Alinea, and there is only one.

@MichaelNagrant @EllenMalloy All I'm saying is, the classy way to handle the situation would have been quietly and privately.

@jmlenart @EllenMalloy I live in a world where just because someone is paying money, that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want.

@MichaelNagrant @EllenMalloy "Sorry we have a no kids policy & your sitter canceled at the last min. We're happy to change your tix." Easy

@jmlenart @MichaelNagrant @EllenMalloy Or just "Sorry your sitter canceled." That's the other part of a ticketed transaction. Sunk cost.

@JasonMMcGrath If you create a system that isn't flexible enough deal with certain things, then you accept the same kind of inflexibility.

@MichaelNagrant Michael, how will our babies learn to fill pillows with lavender smoke to accompany the lamb? Did you consider that?

@AmuseDouche11 I've been on that side of the equation many times. It's the best solution when possible.

@MichaelNagrant @Gachatz I'd be livid if I came to Next, Alinea, or ANY fine dining establishment and had to sit through a crying baby

@MichaelNagrant That's the elephant in the room. Did the babysitter cancel, cause if so, and I can't get refund, I'm bringing baby....

@MichaelNagrant Says You. Oh, OK. They seem to have let the baby in through the front door. #alineababy
