Oh definitely, I’m no climate change denier despite being conservative. In fact I think conservatives should wake up to their name and start conserving the environment, however the mismanagement is definitely the biggest issue here. And yeah, the jurisdiction issue is huge

Yeah this really is one of those issues where there is a middle ground that is actually truth. It’s hard to convince those on either side unfortunately.

These are brush fires.
-
It’s the same difference. Forests were naturally cleansed before. Growth is too dense and improperly managed.

Yes. We need to get serious about implementing Indigenous forest maintenance practices statewide immediately. I’m assuming that’s what you meant by “pre-gold rush”?
-
Indeed it is. Indigenous people and the natural environment used fire to maintain property density but that isn’t necessarily needed. Pay seasonal firefighters year round to clear brush and allow logging to thin out the trees.
-
Yeah, that’s basically Indigenous maintenance so why wouldn’t we pay them to do it and teach fire personnel? Or just return huge swaths of what is now wilderness to us to maintain? We’ve been tending it since time immemorial, until it was stolen and abandoned.

Agreed. Very unusual though to be this warm and dry in November absolutely no rain but a few light days last month plus the heavy winds. Bad combo with all the unspent feul.
