My client walked out of Rikers Island today after a jury acquitted him of all charges. He waited in jail for his trial for 3 years. He lost his job and missed his son’s first 3 birthdays simply because he couldn’t afford bail. He’s not unique - THIS IS OUR SYSTEM. #reform

Congratulations to you & your client for winning his freedom. I agree that you shouldn’t have to win freedom, or pay for freedom, prosecutors should have to win in order to take away our peoples liberty. Still, I know how sweet it is, enjoy the moment & know you did good.
You also shouldnt have to go broke to prove innocence. Many are “guilty until proven innocent” and have to prove it themselves. Our justice system is not just by any means
