The photo to the left is what the videos should look like while the photo on the right shows what they are becoming once being on the site for a few hours...

And. The video on the right suddenly goes up in quality to what it is should after twenty minutes of the fifty minute video. Though another upload of mine I had released today is shown to be butchered for the entirety of the video despite the original file not having any issues.

I am really frustrated to see videos that I had spent hours making suddenly turning into pixelated messes once they are uploaded onto your website. Please tell me exactly what is happening and how it can be fixed so I can go back to uploading happily.

Also, this is not an issue of waiting to see the videos process since they had processed just fine right after uploading. It’s just after about an hour of being on the site the quality quickly lowers despite it looking just fine earlier.

Update: The video where the screenshots come from skyrockets in quality halfway through the video, though the first half is still quite butchered. Are the videos processing frame by frame backwards or is this a strange glitch?

The other video for which I had posted earlier today looks fine on mobile devices but on devices such as computers the quality is lower in some parts of the video while fine on others. Is the issue fixing itself or getting worse?

I will continue to update throughout the day, though I cannot schedule anymore videos until I understand more about what is going on. If you might know what is happening please respond

Just to clarify, YouTube adjusts the quality of your video stream based on your viewing conditions. The quality of your video changes as you watch videos. More info: https://yt.be/help/JXPZ Hope it helps!

Update: I was able to figure out how to fix the issue by snipping .5 seconds from the video using the YouTube editor. During the re-render it was able to fix the quality to what it was supposed to be? Still keeping my eyes open to see if it scales down overnight.

Try rendering your video to vp09

I will if the issue comes up again. I was able to fix it by trimming a small portion of the video out through the YouTube editor and the quality fixed itself during the re-rendering of the video. But thanks for giving me another option if the issue comes up again! :-)
