Is there a parent out there in the US who hasn't had their child's school, or a school in their district, be impacted by a hoax threat in the past week? Looks at this: These are just the first 2 pages of a Google search. And what's a common theme? Threats via *social media*.pic.twitter.com/X0szcSlfyq

The price of defending free speech is the assumption that people reading it are smart enough to understand what is real and what is not. Blame the education system, not the constitution.
-
THIS is the problem. The breakdown in trust of institutions including most importantly the media. On social media anyone with a meme generator is a news source. Journalists have been replaced with "personalities" in TV media. Newspapers are the last hope.
-
And it is a paradox because now more than ever, the truth is mere clicks away. People need to ingest, think and then corroborate as needed. Willingly, or lazily accepting what is being forced down our throats every night on social media and/or the news is the problem.
-
Just 3 clicks away to find this. Tough to see how it's not accurate. Do the math on the dates and it's impossible for him to have been a student in FL this semester since he graduated HS in southern CA 2.5 years ago.pic.twitter.com/GGExBVjOV5

Well, you know what they say, if it's on http://Classmates.com , it must be true.
-
You saying it's not there? It's not perfect but it's more than someone screeching about someone's tweet.
-
You really need to educate yourself on reputable sources. Critical thinking skills. Deductive reasoning. Executive functioning. Something other than "believe everything you see on the internet".
