The biggest realization to come out of this for me is that the damage I sustained might not even have registered for the men who committed these acts. They simply assumed I would shrug it off as they apparently did.

It’s good to know that there are also a lot of men who do respect women and boundaries, in spite of the indoctrination of toxic masculinity. The fact is, I’ve shrugged off a lot of things that should never have happened. Where I couldn’t, I blamed myself.

Sadly women still do not respect boys consent or sexual/ reproductive autonomy of men ans boys and routinely sexually assault their sons with ritual circumcision
