The Black Lives Matter movement also means a hell of a lot to me. What has been and continues to go on in our country is inexcusable and flat out wrong. I will continue to use my voice, my platform and my family’s resources to commit to helping make a change.
I’m incredibly thankful for the love and support from my teammates, the Miami Heat organization, my family, and friends who know me. They know my heart and where I stand. I’ll leave you with this - it’s OKAY to be BOTH. I can stand proud in my beliefs and also support BLM. 
What a lot of people refuse to understand unfortunately is that it is possible to love your country while also disliking/hating the system and wanting change.
Thats exactly why theyre kneeling. Kneeling has NOTHING to do with disrespecting your country or the flag or the anthem or the military. Protest is the ultimate patriotism. And the right to protest is the ultimate thank you to the military people who fought/died for that right
For those that think that kneeling is disrespectful to the troops they are missing the point. To those that think you must kneel to show your support for #BlackLivesMatter
you are ALSO missing the point. It’s the equality that we are striving for that unites us.Let’s not forget

That's a reasonable stand (no pun intended). I think most of us know your heart is in the right place.
To everyone attacking him: The national anthem/flag means different things to different people.
It’s possible to stand during the anthem AND believe that Black Lives Matter.
If you really follow Meyers, you’d know that he has been VERY vocal about #BLM and the need for change
Same w/ Popovich, who is prob the most progressively outspoken NBA employee and still stood.
Meyers, I am very proud to be your friend. Friends can take differing positions and still maintain their love for each other. Binary choices—that’s not necessary. I like to think I’m a Vanilla Swirl.
