A fascinating thing I'm realizing as I see many yearn for better Goodreads is how damn much it actually does (much in weird/hidden ways!) -tracking books you read -reviews / highlights -tracking books you haven't read -reading stats -discovery -whole forums / discussion groupshttps://twitter.com/zachklein/status/1204637882457026560 …

Will there ever be a "better Goodreads" in the sense of a do-everything book app? I think more likely we see certain parts of the stack improved e.g.
@readwiseio for highlights & review… open / interoperable APIs would definitely help a lot in plugging various pieces together…1 reply 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -
What's the *one* thing you'd want to see & personally use most in any sort of next-generation reading / book tracking thing? Personally I care less about highlights, but would love power user features re: books collections, relationships, context etc.

I prefer to export my highlights/notes in software like Notion or Dynalist anyways, but I would use a dedicated book tracker if it had interesting ways of visualizing my library. Group authors by time period or nationality? Cluster map based on related topics or keywords?
