I'd love if you could explain to us exactly how the capitalist-world-system isn't the primary driver of the ecological crisis, which is itself one of the primary drivers of the California wildfires.

The sparks that set off fires are usually from people, no doubt, but the reasons for lack of controlled burns are pretty well-intentioned: don't want property damage, smoke and pollution from fires nearby, etc.

I guess you can call that driven by population which is driven by capitalism, but hard to tell people who happen to live in fire-prone areas to just let it burn and hope it remains contained. Source from an Gaia U Webinar on forests mgmt (https://gaiauniversity.org/gaia-radio/ at bot. of page).

This does not excuse issues of overdevelopment and natural exploitation at all, and I do not think the status quo is sustainable in the slightest. I just think that instead of one causal root for any particular event, there are plenty to choose from and be worried about.
