is there a word like "derealization" or "depersonalization" but specifically for not experiencing other people as real because i think a lot of people have it and it's upstream of a bunch of stuff

Seconding “solipsism” as a descriptor—also reminds me of NPC as an insult and how video games / VR are commonly used as a metaphor for understanding reality by disaffected individuals, which can be extremely destructive in this context.

Been struggling to clarify and describe this issue, first serious confrontation with it was the polemics on narcissism from The Last Psychiatrist (https://thelastpsychiatrist.com ). Perhaps you’re looking for the clinical term “mind-blindness”? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind-blindness …

Not as extreme as lack of theory of mind. In my case (as I mentioned elsewhere in the replies) I had a perfectly adequate theory of mind, but everyone felt fictional, like I was living in a movie. Which relates to TLP stuff.

Hm, haven't experienced that myself (mostly just DP/DR symptoms) but I had weird TLP-style negative narcissism in which I assumed I was empathetic and cared about others, but I really was using them as mirrors for my own projections. Hall of mirrors vs movie analogy ahoy?
