The officer who was senselessly killed earlier today has been named as Sergeant Matt Ratana.
"Matt was a leader in rugby and well known as a player on several teams, including the Met. A lovely man, highly respected by colleagues & the public.

Police Dog Kaiser is "lucky to be alive" and an officer is facing weeks off work with a broken wrist following a knife attack in #Orpington
Despite being stabbed in the head five times, Kaiser kept hold of the man until he was arrested.

A man, aged in his 70s, has been arrested on suspicion of encouragement to commit arson. He remains in police custody.

A deadly weapon is off the streets thanks to the keen nose of police dog Eddie.
Following an intelligence led operation, Eddie was called in and within 15 minutes, he located a concealed weapon.

The loud bang heard throughout north London and surrounding areas was the result of a sonic boom from RAF planes. There is no cause for concern.
Assistant Commissioner Nick Ephgrave has sadly confirmed the body found in the woodland in Kent has been identified as Sarah Everard.

Body Worn Video released to show the severity of the assault two men launched on officers which resulted in a female officer being fly-kicked in the head. As she fell to the ground, she narrowly missed being hit by an oncoming double decker bus. Both men were jailed this week.
At 0737hrs today, a car was in collision with barriers outside the Houses of Parliament. The male driver of the car was detained by officers at the scene. A number of pedestrians have been injured. Officers remain at the scene. We will issue further info when we have it.
