Sort of. Needs less homology (15bp, often less) and is less influenced by internal homology (RecA-independent).

As someone who does not do very much molecular work I've always been vaguely confused by what "cloning" actually means in contexts like this. Is it putting some sequence of interest into a plasmid for expression and/or propagation?
