As much as I love @Twitch, it’s still a place where racism and bigotry appear far too often.
Don’t let it slide. Confront viewers who make racist comments. Time them out. Educate them. Ban them if you have to.
Show your community that it’s not acceptable anywhere.

This dialogue is a great start. You said it best, "Don't let it slide". Ever. We have to work together to enforce Twitch's TOS. Enabling Automod, talking to your moderators about the rules, and being vigilant are the best tools we have to fight online abuse and hate.

One of the first things that impressed me on Twitch was first watching
@CohhCarnage (our first client) in 2012. Someone said some racist junk and his mods banned the guy. Cohh pauses the game and explains why it’s unacceptable. He tells him he’s welcome to stay and unbans. -
That's a great lesson. It's not just the ban, its the moment to pause and educate about why its unacceptable to people who would listen to him. I hope more streamers can take a lesson from him, myself included.
