Guy at bar bumps into me, says "Sorry dude, I apologize." One of those cases where the apology is worse than the thing being apologized for.
I can see how that would be a bummer, hopefully he's just chill, I've said dude to people, like 'hey guys!' But I get it

Yeah. There's a difference. When guys call strangers "dude" in this context, it's specifically gendered.
