Because it's starting to feel like all men in our community are monsters, let me share a quick story. I was hosting Game Show Night (Blankety Blank), and an audience member dressed as Deadpool Bob Ross was a contestant.

He looked great and was really embodying the character. I can't remember what prompted it, but when I turned to face the audience, he started making humping gestures at me. The crowd ate. It. Up.

I, unfortunately, was having a VERY bad night and was just soooooo not in the mood, so I simply responded with, "Son, just don't." (Which, to my credit, is at least a Captain America line.) It was really only loud enough for him to hear.

During the "thinking" music, he gestured to whisper in my ear and said "I'm so sorry, I'm just doing a bit, I apologize." And you know, I knew he was doing a bit, and I wasn't at all mad at him for doing it, but that apology meant SO much to me.

I doubt I was in a place to make him understand that in that moment (like I said, I was having an incredibly bad night and the fact I wasn't burning the convention center down was a minor miracle) but I think about him a lot.

Anyway, if you cosplayed as Deadpool Bob Ross at PAX East a few years back, and played Blankety Blank, first, I'm sorry I wasn't in a better mood, and secondly, thanks for being a stand-up guy.

This is a good story. I'm glad you put up a boundary, and glad he respected it.
