My mom was telling me about a friend of hers and she paused and said, "....now this is a new term for me....non binary." and we talked a bit about what that meant and about pronouns, and she said, "but they're a wonderful person, and you should know that first."

I love that you and your mom could talk about it and that she is open to learning about new aspects of those around her
