It's difficult to perceive negative reactions to influencers of any size getting free games/merchandise/hardware as anything other than jealousy.

Agree wholeheartedly, which is why I said this probably isn’t the conversation she was having. Just expressing a frustration I’ve had for years. And when like, star NBA players are getting free consoles when they’re making millions a year, that ticks me off, even as an NBA fan
Super agree with both of you and I appreciate how you each approached this. You're right, I wasn't clear enough that I'm referring to aggressive anger I see online for some content creator to get a game they've been excited about for years.

Still, those creators deserve it because of the work they’ve put into it. In that sense it doesn’t really matter if they can easilly afford it or not. I think perhaps they could be better themselves by saying, ok, I can have this game for free, but do I need it for free?

There’s also give aways, where a creator could give back to the community, and actually adress the ”issue” at hand. This world isn’t fair, that’s something we all have to live with. Others may struggle AF just to get around, no chance of buying expensive stuff like this.
