I worked at GameSpot for years and we often got free stuff delivered to us (games, chairs, giant statues) and it never altered how we felt about the game at the end of the day. Any commenter saying it did, didn't understand our process and how rigorous it was.

I feel it’s more of a socioeconomic capitalism issue more than jealousy. It’s weird that the people most capable of buying a product get it given to them free. Doesn’t adhere to just games either. Same can be applied to A list celebrities and multi million dollar companies.

But on the other hand I totally see the other side of it as well. I’ve thought about this issue a lot.
