Little micro aggressions like these that make people feel like they're not good enough, even when they're doing nothing wrong. It shouldn't be a discussion point how you got your ice cream, but it was.
1/2 Ridiculous, isn't it? I have shoulder length hair and have, at times, been told to 'Get a hair cut, you girl' and the like. Not only is it an attempt to reinforce toxic 'manly' stereotypes, but it's also a negative slur - though indirectly - at women.
2/2 I mean, what's WRONG with being womanly? Okay, it's not the 'norm' but if a man wants to be effeminate, so what? It's their choice and they neither break my leg nor pick my pocket. Each to their own, I say - let's celebrate diversity in all its forms. :)
