It is absolutely infuriating, to know someone who talks to themselves, and then get upset when you asked what they said, like I was somehow supposed to know they were talking to themselves, instead of trying to say something to me and I couldn't hear what they said. 
haha, I talk to myself a lot and I'm always embarrassed when someone asks me what I said

Oh I'm totally cool with people talking to themselves, I just don't want them to get upset if I asked what they said because I thought they were talking to me and I just wanted to talk to them.
