They would also provide a better sex-ed program for their youths other than abstinence-only, which has never worked. This is what happens when politicians gerrymander their districts: civil rights decay.
If reducing abortions were truly the goal, Alabama would support greater access to long term, reliable birth control that gives women the necessary information and protection they need. This has been and always is about control.

You are talking about a state that still teaches "Abstinence Only" sex ed. I went to Auburn University and I gave a speech in my Public Speaking course about how that mindset needs to change and I was told I have too much of a "California mindset" for the south.

I agree that abortion needs to be legal and people need to have access to birth control. Where would you draw the line though? I don’t think 3rd trimester is ok based on the science and viability of the baby.

No one just decides to get an abortions at the 3rd trimester for fun. 3rd trimester usually happen due to danger/complications and account for 1.3% of all abortions.
