It's interesting to me that "apologies for the dickish response" is no apology at all. I only hope he DM'd Ben a real apology. I quit following Patrick 6 months before he started @ Waypoint because I don't tolerate insincerity- particularly when it's propped up by sarcasm & snark
Do you think a heartfelt apology is needed for 'nah'? Snark, absolutely right. But I don't think he's being disrespectful here, although that's not my call to make :)

If i do a "dickish" thing and I have full awareness of the possible perception, then I always give a direct apology ("heartfelt" or not). He displayed awareness of the possible optics in his post. Mary, I'm sorry to have intruded into your day.

Nah u didn't at all. I like that you give apologies out even in the slightest hint that u might have offended, its a nice character trait.
