He's wrong. U have a disability that makes it hard for u to play? Okay
Then this experience isn't for u, as you can't play it the way the artist who made it, intended. Sometimes you're too short to get on the ride,& that's okay. There are plenty of other experiences to enjoy.2 vastausta 0 uudelleentwiittausta 1 tykkäys -

I find your comment ignorant and exclusionist. The developers have clearly said they wanted people to overcome obstacles and persevere. These elements can be experienced by everyone. Gatekeeping these experiences in the sake of 'artistic Intention' isn't your claim to make.

My comment can be anything you want as it's your opinion. But the developers saying they want players to overcome & persevere doesn't equate to changing the obstacles for people who find it"hard",no matter from lack of skill or disability. The same elements ARE experienced by all

What you don’t get is that difficulty is subjective. Some people will simply never get over that hump on the same settings that you will. “Easy mode” is what “hard mode” is to you. Hence, the artistic intent of overcoming adversity can be experienced by more people.

I get that difficulty is subjective, & it doesn't have to be from disability. Other people are better at different types of games that I am, I'm not even good at From Software games. But I don't want anyone to change any game to make it more accessible for me or anyone else.

No one is asking for changes. People are asking for additions. Options are never a bad thing.

If it's different than the original, or what the developers wanted, options are a change. And if they don't want to give you options, so be it, you don't have to play the game.

I went on a walk and thought about this and I have a new thing to share. I can understand the idea that perhaps the developer does not want to give us options (they didn't) and that without saying it, it WAS there intention to leave out players, that's their prerogative. BUT....

My argument isn't really that they SHOULD include more players, because again, that's their choice. My argument is that when we discuss whether or not a game should have different difficulty modes, that we should avoid saying things like 'get gud'......

bs its assuming that all people have the same range of skill level, especially considering that some people are disabled, something I don't often consider myself. Saying 'Pick another game' is really missing the perspective of others who cannot have the same experiences u can.

I think that's really the only point I wanted to make. Consider other perspectives before bluntly assuming they just want an easier game. But I respect your opinion that the game is what is for a reason, thats fair. ah i feel better.
