Spent my morning cradling a biker who slammed into a car door that suddenly opened. He's going to be ok. Look around before opening your car doors, its just 5 extra seconds and you can save a life.

Yup if we dont do this shit at our exams or while practice driving in the netherlands we fail our exam and our teacher gives us a warning and also we are taught to use 2 hands to open the door especialy with extreme winds

I don't know if this is true, but supposedly if you open your car door with your right hand instead of your left, that will give you enough time to check your surroundings and not hit anyone.
