Because of all my time with Bloodborne I played about 4 hours of Dark Souls without realizing you could just hold the sheild up. I was attempting to parry almost constantly so when accidentally hit L1 it was like I activated baby mode. I’m a dumbass.
I prefer to perry over a shield, I think it's faster. But yeah, it's also probably harder...

Totally. I mean I’m sure I’ll need to use it a lot against bigger enemies but it’s nice to know I have a defense against the monsters you can’t parry. I was sort of a sitting duck for a while

Rolling essentially works the same as dodging in bloodborne as well with the invincibility frames. You can play more aggressive than you might think
