Testosterone may absolutely change someone’s mood - all hormones can do this. But it’s a myth that it will cause violent tendencies. News flash, most violent behavior from cis men is caused by social factors (read: toxic masculinity and the patriarchy), not hormones.

Wtf? This really bugs me about trans femme circles is the meme that testosterone is toxic. It's fine, it just wasn't right for you, caused changes you didn't want, whatever. Like take a second to think about how the things you say affect trans men and trans masc folx.

This is why I’m careful when talking about my dysphoria. I don’t blame estrogen as a thing - it’s a neutral factor in everything. To say that estrogen is toxic to me is I mean, partially it would be very sexist, but also insensitive to my trans sisters and any enbies who want it.

For any trans men scared of HRT, here’s my words of encouragement: it isn’t for everyone, and if you’re interested in it, there are communities and clinics you can go to that will give you the information you need. And know that you can stop taking T at any time, for any reason.

It’s your body. You get to decide what to do with it. You deserve accurate information about your health, you deserve access to healthcare that may change your life for the better, you deserve to be able to make informed choices. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

It can affect people differently, but my personality hasn't even changed in the slightest, I'm still a softy 4 years later, and if it affects people negatively that's what monitoring and changing your dosage is for, to balance things out
