"Some designers still just dump the PSD and call it a day. Those should be fired." - @MengTo It's not a zero-sum game. Why so hostile?

@eli_schiff not trying to be hostile but giving a harsh reality. We need to be able to at least deliver the assets if asked.

@MengTo I see what you mean now. What dev wants to open up Ps? The wording could have been more subtle. I agree we do need better tools!

@eli_schiff The app building world is sadly non-inclusive for designers. It's like CSS 10 years ago. Instead, dev are getting great at UI.

@MengTo Designers have embraced their own disposability. We don't exhibit a large enough market for visual tools that export code (yet.)

@eli_schiff That shouldn't happen since despite all that, designers are extremely hard working. Code may not be necessary in 10 years.

@MengTo In the interim visual design (an incredibly important practice) is getting scrapped outside of large companies w/ large budgets

@eli_schiff The good news is that large companies are being replaced by tiny startups all over the world. Visual design = necessity.

@MengTo Depends on their values. Most startups don't see MVP this way: https://twitter.com/boctor/status/529315885463638016 …

@eli_schiff Hmm, that doesn't mean visual design isn't necessary. It just means that it's not the only layer.
