This Monday, June 29, is the 20th anniversary of Jet Set Radio's release. I wanted to release Sounds Of Tokyo-to Future, open up pre-orders, have a single--something. We're here, and I don't have anything. I'm really upset and stressed about it--I hate that I wasn't good enough.
Say what you will about the factors I can't control this year... shipping, music videos, events, everything is way harder than it would have been. I could have at least finished one of these songs/commissioned some art and I don't have shit together. I wanted to vent.
When you spend 12 years working on music without any recognition, and only start finally making it when you're older than you wanted to be, every year has a lot of pressure on it. And this one has been a complete non-starter.

To make actual good money from Spotify, you have to have millions of plays on every song you put out.

Man, the world is so exhausting right now, it's easy to just let personal project deadlines just slip away. I totally feel you on the stress of it. Just know that it's alright if shit doesn't pop up when intended. You're so awesome, you're more than "good enough" dude!
If you had released it and it wasn't up to your standards, then you could talk about not being good enough. You're fighting and struggling to make it excellent. That's much, much better. If you weren't good enough, you wouldn't even care. Take your time man. We'll all wait.

dude don't beat yourself up over this. it's fine. I rather you spend as much time as possible to make the best possible music you can make, rather than you stressing yourself out trying to push out content.
