The other frustrating thing os because he has major neurological issues doctors often dismiss his symptoms as that and push him down the wait list. One time they sent him home, I told mum to take him to another hospital. Turned out he had golden staph and got to his heart.

My dad has been waiting in a hospital ED 3.5 hours despite having a history of 2 strokes and a heart attack/ damaged heart with major heart op. He’s confused and not answering questions and doesn’t know what he’s doing (mum is with him thankfully).

Before anyone complains we ran many pieces including comment with GP views front and centre; but we need to recognise primary care goes beyond general practice and whole-of-system reform is critical, including listening to a range of experts.

Stop softening abuse. Stop romanticising it. Stop offering crumbs of sympathy to perpetrators.
Victim blaming is so ingrained in our culture it is the default response.
It drives stories. It drives profits. It drives the cycle of domestic and sexual violence.
