It's disconcerting to say the least to see attempts to shut down progressive voices, particularly those of women and BIPOC folks. Some of us have been living the systemic oppression, bobbing and weaving our way through a white world to make gains for our communities.
The progressive movement doesn't have an endpoint, it's part of a continuum. A social revolution won't be won simply by calling out everything that's wrong and ideological rigidity divorced from experience that cancels out the voices of those most impacted by a broken system.
I understand the frustration some of y'all are feeling. The sense of helplessness in the face of a system and majority that is deaf to your pleas. Welcome to feeling like a marginalized person in America. This has been our experience in one form or another for our whole lives.
So if you care about improving the material conditions of the working class & marginalized folks stop looking at one election as definitive. Next yr. there will be local elections + mid-terms after that. And in between I guarantee you impacted folks are organizing. Join them.
