but ignored 3 million Americans has only made it worse. Congress can act to forgive the island's debt, seek a permanent waiver from the Jones Act for Puerto Rico, and allocate serious federal investment to rebuild the island's economy.

If any other state in the Union found itself in the same position as Puerto Rico we'd expect the federal government to marshall all its resources to aid its citizens and get it back on its feet. It should be no different for PR & it's what we should expect from our Congresspeople

And I'm not gonna lie, as someone who's worked in a Congressional office before, this reeks of election year optics unless it's followed up with meaningful action that addresses the real crisis my family back in Puerto Rico deals with on a daily basis. END
