Glad have @ilonaduverge tell the truth that this capitalistic society was built on the backs of people of color, and that when we talk about a #GreenNewDeal, we need to talk about the racial wealth gap. She's absolutely correct that when we talk GND, we need to talk jobs for POC.
When we talk #GreenNewDeal in NYC, we also need to talk about NYCHA. @ilonaduverge points out that a GND should bring jobs to NYCHA tenants and reinvest in these communities that once built a middle class. This is why my housing plan also centers GND requirements and local labor.
The solutions to close the racial wealth gap, create a real #HomesGuarantee, bolster labor and unions, build a just and equitable economy, and stem the #ClimateCrisis through a #GreenNewDeal are more than related, they depend on each other.
