diversion programs and support services that keep women out of the broken CJ system. While ensuring unique needs of women are met while incarcerated, it's more important, to fund and expand supportive programming which is already less available to meet the needs of women.
Tailoring reforms to address root causes of mass incarceration, and understanding the circumstances women face proor to incarceration will go a long way in ensuring they remain outside of the system in the first place.
