And every single one of them was a billion times happier after their affirming surgeries. THAT transformation, not the physical one we all can see, but the transformation of THEM...was astonishing ...to me as a cis person. And only confirmed how WRONG my perspective is.

On these issues. And how little I was aware of the tremendous suffering they had endured from various dysphoria. It was like a huge weight was lifted off their very soul. That's what it looked like to me. And all of them have blossomed in their ways, and are just...happier.

So if like me you're a cis person who's worried about what seems like from your outside perspective 'rushing into' ...I mean don't quiz a trans person unless they're your close friend & that convo is okay to maybe have, or someone who welcomes such...but listen to what THEY say

Oh which isn't to say all trans people undergo surgery. many don't. Some do. It varies. But for many I've known, it's been an essential part of medical treatment for dysphoria and is as essential to their health and well being as any other medical procedure we have done.

Thanks for this thread. I only had six weeks between starting to come out and starting HRT, but I’d been dreaming of doing it for all of the ~12 years since I learned it was possible. I spent that time doing everything I could to hide myself from everyone I knew.
