Took a peek at the qrt's and it seems the 5 star rating system is like this everywhere. We may as well have a 'like/dislike' system in place so there's no room for confusion and people won't feel like they have to exaggerate their review to save a life.

The problem is that a lot of people don't know that places like Etsy will close your shop if you don't have enough stars. I found I could change my outfacing name now, so I left a bunch of 5's!

This is unfortunately really common. It's based on something called a Net Promoter Score (NPS) which is actually a really good metric to have. Since it's creation though, it has been used more and more as a catch all metric, which is bad for the recipient, and analysts as well.pic.twitter.com/4gIJuA8T0J
