When we tested this feature, people loved it! It helped them more easily navigate and find the right video to watch. If you have any specific feedback, send it directly from the YouTube app via our “Send Feedback” tool. Thanks!

Let us know if it does - that's good feedback! Also, if you accidentally swipe, you can always swipe back to the previous video, the player will pick up where you left off.

The problem I noticed is the video prompts me to swipe mid-video which is annoying...

Hmm is it like a pop-up notification highlighting how to swipe? There may be a few of those as it rolls out to let you know about the feature, but it shouldn't persist.

No the video will be playing in the background but a vague overlay pops up, kinda how the play/pause button do when you tap the screen... but it’s every 5-7 minutes or so

That’s happened to me a lot too. Really annoying.

Wouldn’t be an issue if it did it at the end of the video, but not 3 times DURING the video

I know!! Just totally unexpected, interrupting my enjoyment.
