It was not at all my intent to even imply that those people all viewed black banks the same way. I thought I was pretty clear about that. As to not citing collective courage, my manuscript was finished in 2015 and I had not found the book yet. I have 2 copies now.
It was not intentional or a slight. And I don’t think I’m making a case that black banks were capitalist. I’m simply saying that insofar as capitalism was based on white supremacy, it would block black capital accumulation. My thesis is not against black cooperatives at all

I think some were (Jesse Binga and Booker T. Washington) and some were not (MLK, DuBois, walker). It was not a monolith.
