    More work is needed and our hope is that we can use these descriptive findings to build toward more causal and experimental work on the effects of at home learning activities on low income kids’ learning and development in early childhood.

    Associations were stronger for kids whose parents had lower levels of education suggesting that doing more at-home unconstrained activities might be a lever for reducing early achievement gaps, particularly when parents have limited time to engage in learning activities at home.
