Most states have very weak renter protections and unless there’s some sort of rent control/good cause eviction statute a landlord can terminate a tenancy at the lease’s end thru nonrenewal.
Where the hell do y'all live? Our landlord here can't kick us out if we don't pay rent rn bc of the virus but also we can countersue anyway bc he's not fixing a broken porch, failing fire escape, no insulation, funky wiring, etc. so we don't legally owe him rent if we choose.
Room for rent situation so probably not. How you dress is not a protected class, & shared common areas mean you can discriminate based on gender. It's effed up but not something to sue over
Idk tenant law in NZ, but highly unlikely. You aren't required to provide a reason for non-renewal, but as another person said, clothing isn't a protected class.
But what about sexual harassment?
