My reply was more geared towards the "books are going to disappear like Netflix caused movies to disappear" or something. I dont have enough data but do know that Kindle Unlimited and Scribd have international memberships.

Also, if you have friends in the US, see if you can jump on their overdrive account (like sharing Netflix!) Also some libraries offer memberships to people who arent a part of their community. They cost, yes, but there are options. And that's just off the top of my head so (cont)

Both of these cost around 10 dollars a month which, for many people in the global south, is too much money. I really wish there was an alternative to piracy for those who are less privileged people

Totally get. Scribd does have a 30 day free trial, and does allow multiple devices to have books saved - so it could possibly be done over a few different people joining in? I honestly haven't checked out the logistics.
