Vimeo isn't a good alternative. Not for gaming content like let's plays, anyway. Especially since free accounts have a limit to how much data they can upload in a given week (I think it's 500MB?), and a total limit of 5GB.

You mean you have to pay people to store your stuff on the internet and not get everything for free.

20 bucks a month is not a lot of money to spend if you can see her to be your main Hobby.

It's not a good alternative if you have a channel that relies on posting multiple videos a week/month. It's meant more as a portfolio than as a place for content that continues constantly.

There is no one cheap solution however the simply State there are no Alternatives is not true. Vimeo is a viable alternative if you make it

I've had my own server since 1999 and my own domain since 2001. So I don't expect anything for free .. YouTube being free is just nice

The problem isn't having to pay - I never said it was. The problem is that Vimeo is not an outlet for the typical gaming content of YouTube. It's an outlet for /film/ content. Motion graphics, cinematography, etc. It's like telling people to go to LinkedIn instead of Facebook.
