@medium @carlalviani Seems to miss the point. Cyclists certainly aren't more dangerous, just more annoying. People are okay with danger.

@Medium@CarlAlviani I believe almost every bicycle aggressor could be turned into a supporter if they were made to bike for a month. -
@anthony_m_cook@Medium@CarlAlviani Yes. People are probably more prone to despise cyclists who are "weak" compared to "strong" motorists. -
@anthony_m_cook@medium@carlalviani Isn't the biggest problem the lack of infrastructure? Denmark and Netherlands seem to have nice bikers. -
@mrtnlrssn@medium@carlalviani I think that says something even worse about our society. I think its a feeling they cyclists are "uppity". -
@anthony_m_cook@Medium@CarlAlviani ...akin to how people tend to despise ugly people. Or cowardly men. -
@mrtnlrssn@medium@carlalviani I think its a feeling that cyclists are "acting above their station". -
@chrshmmmr@medium@carlalviani In the US we share roads between cars, people, and cycles. The differences in tactics makes for conflicts. -
@anthony_m_cook@Medium@CarlAlviani ...a feeling that can be seen towards other motorists by people driving more expensive cars as well. -
@mrtnlrssn@medium@carlalviani Right, I think cycling is perceived as a lower class activity. -
@anthony_m_cook@Medium@CarlAlviani Now, one could speculate why that is. I guess the low costs of even expensive bikes is one factor. -
@Medium@CarlAlviani the lack of infrastructure! btw the title is kinda misleading. -
