this seems a very urgent issue for government & a serious omission from the GRA having reduced the cost to £10 I wonder how many more people will realise in the future that they want to rescind the GRC & use their original birth certificate
Not an issue to be taken lightly either, as our system in the UK is complicated. For example, the DWP will only change your sex marker if you obtain a GRC, so anyone reversing their legal gender change would need to obtain another *new* GRC in order to update certain records.

(so it can't be as simple as "your GRC has been reversed, you can use your original birth certificate again." - We would still need documentation, just like a Gender Recognition Certificate, to inform certain organisations and get our sex markers on their records changed back.)

Yes, birth sex re-established. We would just need an official documentation of sort that says "this person has returned to their birth sex" or similar, so our records can be updated again.
