One slide includes a bit saying: "It can be more respectful to refer to body parts using 'the' instead of 'your' (e.g., 'the chest' instead of 'your chest')" I feel like this just encourages more dissociation from the body and adds to the belief your body is "wrong", doesnt it?

I agree, I think it does. It also lets the person escape responsibility. If it is not "my" cervix that has cancer, but "the" cervix, I might feel less directly involved.
