and that this road (transition) is the one to go down? Seen people argue "oh but they were 18 when they made that choice" and yeah, sure, but having that experience growing up within what's essentially a big experiment would have effected that choice. So does it really matter?

Like, I was over 18 when I signed those consent forms too but honestly? The decision had already been made at 14 when I walked through those doors and was affirmed without any meaningful attempt to find out why I was dysphoric or what alternatives could be attempted.

IMHO at this point I don't see why children should be attending a GIC at all, I disagree with medical interventions under 18 and I don't think the therapists are doing any good. I was even under one who was considered a "gatekeeper" and yet, here I am. Hope to see change one day.
