Children do not have the mental capacity to make such big decisions like interrupting puberty and potentially becoming locked into being a life-long patient. They just don't. I didn't. Even at 18 it can be risky to allow it, but it's better at least.

When you're a kid you think you know it all, but you're still growing - even in your twenties, you don't know where you'll end up. How those huge decisions be made at such an uncertain time? Without ever allowing yourself to grow into your body first?

DR Zje, a stem cell professor in the USA on Twitter who has changed gender states that the intervention is better than the type of puberty trans kids can go through and states her own experience. Mine was dreadful also.
