Nice that Self ID won't be happening, IMO the current system /for trans individuals/ while pricey is fine, it's fair, it's reasonable, it's got an appropriate amount of hoops to jump. But still waiting to hear if they'll make any reforms at all for detransitioners.

Can't tell me it makes sense for a female detrans person to have to get another diagnosis of gender dysphoria (like an MTF would), and then spend two years "living as female" just to be legally recognised as their OWN biological sex. (And vice versa for male detrans)

How's that supposed to work when GICs seem clueless about detransition? Mine tried to tell me I was just saying it so I could "stay a patient", my Dr said I "wasn't female anymore" and then suggested I could prove my gender identity by "wearing a wig and dressing feminine".

Then they dragged their feet and made me go without hormones for 7 months before finally approving Estrogen, which I'm still bitter about because if I didn't have a hysto I'd of naturally produced E, and they wouldn't have forced me on blockers so really, what's the difference?

For some reason, I'm just unhappy with the prospect of having to actively battle a system built on regressive sexist stereotypes and piss poor therapy, and then spend two years living as a "female gender" to be legally recognised as my own sex again.

Replying to @MediocreDruid
Mermaids is actively promoting loophole so you can change gender on passport and driving licence without a GRC You may be able to use it

Not really a loophole, as having a gender marker changed on ID has no bearing on law (it's essentially cosmetic). My issue is because of my GRC, I now have a male birth certificate and am legally considered male. I cant change that without getting a new GRC, but IDs are no issue.
